If you are looking for one of the best kids movies, it doesn't get much better than this. Disney Animation Studios brings us the latest in their string of hits with Zootopia - a wonderfully-done movie that has it all. The story is about a bunny named Judy Hopps who has always wanted to be a police officer in the big city of Zootopia, but is hindered by her small size and low expectations. But, she perseveres and eventually is able to make the police force. But, not without difficulty. She is given parking duties by her boss - a rather large elephant named Chief Bogo. However, when a series of small-town animal disappearances start up, she is given her chance for detective work - being sent out into the sticks to find some missing mammals. Meanwhile, a fox con-artist named Nick Wilde is also sent out into the countryside by the same police chief - where they cross paths and are forced to help each other if they are going to solve this mystery... But Zootopia isn't quite what it seems... What follows is an excellent story with wonderful pacing. It's been a long time since I saw a Disney movie where I didn't feel the need to check the clock. This movie is packed with memorable moments and great characters. In fact, all of the characters are extremely well-developed and it's amazing how much we learn about each of them as we see their lives unfold. We learn about the stereotypes that we have about animals, but we also get to understand why those stereotypes exist and how they apply in this story. We get to meet a lot of unique mammals that we may not have ever heard off before - such as otters, bunnies, elephants, and more. We also meet many new species as well... The ease with which this story flows is remarkable, as well. Despite the fact that this is a kids' movie - and has a story that moves along at a rather quick pace - everything is extremely easy to follow with very little confusion. And, having seen many movies like this, I can say with certainty that the plot isn't cheesy... ...But it's not over-the-top serious either. For instance, you have some moments where Nick Wilde's humor will have you laughing out loud. And, some of the scenes involving the different species of Zootopia are so funny I nearly died. One of my favorite scenes involves a rhino and his eccentric family as they parade by in their van. Another especially funny scene had me laughing out loud as well. For a kids' movie, there were plenty of moments that I didn't feel like I was watching a kids' movie at all. The animation is really good too - and it's one area where this movie doesn't disappoint. There is a lot going on - but everything is very easy to follow and you don't have to concentrate too much to enjoy the animation. It's colorful, vibrant, and extremely well-done... cfa1e77820
